For his own wedding, artist and designer Benjamin Shine created two sculptures of his and his bride’s profiles gazing at each other, with both extending to long sculptural ribbons that spiraled in and out of the trees in the forest where the wedding was held. The ribbons, in turn, directed his wedding guests right up to the ceremony’s seating area.
They also formed a heavenly arch for the happy couple to walk through for their exchange of marriage vows.
The four-kilometre ribbons were meticulously powder-coated in white and meant to celebrate the couple’s journey together, with the many twists and turns thrown in for good measure. Called ‘entwined’, they were made of metal mesh. Juxtaposed against the forest greens, a fairy tale ending seems to come alive.
